Agricultural and animal production, aiming at enhancing existing scientific knowledge and promoting sustainable, increased-value, production modes, namely:
- Research on cattle and sheep reproduction control;
- Research on the effects of pasturing all year round upon parameters of animal performance and product quality (milk, carcass and beef);
- Research on the manipulation of animal diets based on pasture, in order to improve the dietetic and nutritional value (e.g. favourable fatty acids including CLA) of bovine milk and meat;
- Research on soil and aquatic nutrient cycles.
