As carbon is being injected to the atmosphere, it’s concentration is expected to each approximately 800 ppmv by the year 2100, with a concomitant decrease in ocean pH (ocean acidification).

Planktonic microorganisms establish interactions between them, influencing their responses to the surrounding environment. With this project it is intended to analyse the potential role of the relationships established between phytoplankon and marine bacteria on their responses to increasing CO2 concentrations.
